NOT YOUR WAR?

Conceptual photography. About the role of a woman and her emotional state in different situations related to war. We all feel vulnerable in front of the circumstances, in which the life has unexpectedly put us. Our everyday was crossed out, we began to perceive ordinary things in a different way. Some hope to escape, to wait aside. But these are vain hopes. War concerns everyone! For women in the Ukrainian mentality, this situation looks even more painful. Losing of a home, fear for kids, the need to run away, mobilization of men, volunteering, life under occupation - these are far not ordinary stressful situations, this is a change of basic world outlook coordinates. But a woman doesn’t just protect her home and family, many of them go to the front with weapons on the same level as men, volunteer, take care of the wounded. On their fragile shoulders falls much more than we can imagine. 12 stories have been selected in order to vividly emphasize the topic.

03:40 AM - for everyone, one of the most painful memories is how exactly the war has begun for himself. The world changed for many at 03:40 AM on February 24.

Windows of War – in childhood we saw terrible footage of the World War, with windows taped crosswise to protect the glass from the blast wave. And now we stick tapes crosswise on our own windows.

Sweet Home - every sorrow, every broken home, every loss - they pass through all of us, leaving their traces on the soul and body.

Occupation/Kherson area - hatred and rage against the enemy who seized and robbed the lands, trampled on the future, cut it off from the Motherland.

Shelter - the yellow ribbon that our soldiers wear on their sleeves is a symbol of help and hope for Victory. For the Ukrainians in these terrible days, this yellow ribbon became a sign of the territory of goodness.

Green Corridor - roads of life which connected the occupied zones with free cities. They were badly chancy and dangerous, but fortunately they existed.

Propaganda - a non-stop stream of information flowing from all mass medias. TV, radio, the Internet – this all clogs the ears, gets into the eyes, shuts the mouth. How to catch crumbs of truth from a heap of trash?

Save Azov - is not just a struggle in the name the soldiers from the battalion in Mariupol, who fought courageously and got surrounded. This is a social movement for the freeing up of all prisoners, for their destinies and lives!

Broken Dreams - we lived in peace and hoped for happy future, children's voices, travelling and our own homes. Our dreams were broken.

Prayer - standing in front of the icon, we pray for the return of our beloved ones from the front, safe and unhurt. We hope for the best.

Volunteers - it doesn't matter about your age, your gender, your profession - the most important is that you have will, inspiration and rage against the enemy!!!
